A registered UK healthcare professional assesses your application within their scope of practice. They may request more information and will decide whether a letter is clinically suitable.
Receive your signed letter
If approved, receive your signed digital letter with QR verification. Check the delivery options for your chosen service before ordering.
Private service — not NHS. A letter is never guaranteed before clinical review and cannot be backdated without appropriate evidence. If a registered UK healthcare professional decides that issuing one would not be clinically suitable, we refund you in full.

Who reviews my application?
Your application is reviewed individually by a registered UK healthcare professional. This may be a doctor, pharmacist or another appropriately qualified practitioner, depending on the service, your needs and availability. Practitioners are registered with their relevant professional regulator, such as the General Medical Council or General Pharmaceutical Council. They work within their scope of practice and may decline a request if an online assessment or the requested letter is not appropriate.
Will my employer or organisation accept the letter?
Acceptance depends on the receiving organisation. Before ordering, check its requirements for the issuing professional, wording and supporting evidence. A signed, QR-verifiable letter does not guarantee acceptance.
Can my letter cover an earlier period?
The reviewing healthcare professional may be able to describe an earlier period of illness where the information and supporting evidence justify it. This is assessed individually and is not guaranteed.
What if my request is declined?
If the reviewing healthcare professional decides that issuing a letter would not be clinically suitable, you receive a full refund.
Is this an NHS service?
No. Home2Lab provides a private online medical-letter service.
Is a workplace sickness letter an NHS fit note?
Our workplace sickness letters are private medical certificates, not NHS Med3 fit notes. They are intended as evidence of sickness for your employer. Please check your employer’s requirements before ordering, as acceptance is not guaranteed. We do not issue certificates for Home Office, immigration or benefit claim purposes.
